Comfort is sometimes underrated. Comfort makes an excellent starting point and an excellent retreat. Comfort can provide the psychic space to consider all your options, including ones you couldn't see before when things were more tense or more frantic. It's called 'breathing room' for a reason -- take a breath, deep and slow. Comfort means you can take a step back before taking a step forward.

Comfortable clothes allow me to move more freely. Comfort food can be nutritious, too. Going out in the cold with warm gloves isn't just cozy, it's smart. I will persist if I am comfortable, and cut things short if I am not. You don't have to stay comfortable all the time. But seeking comfort isn't always settling for less, either. Sometimes, it's part of seeking even more. And sometimes, it's just about admitting to vulnerability -- and taking care of it. Taking care of myself.

A good review!

"The anthology [Spicy Slipstream Stories] opens with the most direct parody in the collection, "The Call Girl Detective" by Lori Selke, a send-up of Kelly Link's "The Girl Detective." If you're familiar with the source material, you can't help but laugh."
