Some More Internet Laws That We Need, with placeholder names:

McCaffrey's Law: The probability that in any discussion of SF and disability "The Ship Who Sang" will be mentioned in a positive light despite its odious politics is 100%.

Haberdasher's Law: In every discussion that mentions "fedora-wearers" as a class, at least one person will feel compelled to comment with some variation of "actually, they're all wearing Trilbys" without adding any further substantiative content whatsoever.

It's Wednesday again, and not much has changed

I am about halfway through "Almanac of the Dead" and still enjoying it a lot. More on that soon. Also I'm about halfway through the out-loud bedtime rendition of "The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland." I like reading everybody's dialogue and trying to capture their different voices. However, I think after this we're going to take a bit of a break and go back to picture books for a while. Or else plow through the two volumes of "Zita the Space Girl" that are waiting for us. Or both.
