Cats can be white for multiple reasons. One is the white-spotting gene (which, yes, can result in an all-white cat) but they can also just *be* white.

I don't know which one comes into play for calicos - probly the white-spotting, cometothinkofit, since tortoiseshells are calicos without the white (which makes them more nutty, not less, btw).

This isn't helpful at all, is it? *G* And Bean's asleep, so I'm SOL here.
