So, if I'm going to have to avoid the sun, I probably need a hat.
The hat should reflect my gender identity, yet should go with these glasses:

Any suggestions?

I'm not sure this one's you, but I really like it anyhow.

Won't keep a lot of sun off you, but it's damn cute.

I mostly need to keep the sun off my actual head, where the sunscreen can't go. Scalp sunburn is no fun.

though it may not be enough coverage on your neck.
(You realize the irony of needing a sunshade in SF, don't you? Of course you do.)

I love these hats since you can throw them in the washer (but not the dryer) and keep them clean. You can throw them in your bag, too. Can't do that with a straw hat.
Another idea: if you see somebody wearing a hat you like, ask them where they got it. Oakland should have some nice, gentlemanly hat stores.
