I made fancy apple fritters for dinner tonight. Kind of a late Hanukkah thing. This version used a beer batter plus egg whites, while the apples were macerated in brown sugar and cinnamon. Not bad, if I do say so myself.
Speaking of apples, my current favorite eating apple is Pippin. I am disappointed in Gala; they go soft very quickly.
