residual societal-induced guilt about consuming porn makes a consumer base that won't (as a class) band together to complain about prices and probably, subconsciously, feels the need to pay a sin tax. Porn mags, especially fetish mags, are traditionally a lot more expensive than regular mags also.

Yes. Judging from a quick skim of the "new releases" section of TLA Video, straight porn averages about $25 per DVD, gay porn about $50.
