I fear for our children.

Cornell op-ed writer states without irony, "Porn is, first and foremost, a teaching tool."

I think I feel ill.

And I even left out the part where Sex and the City is the girl's version of porn. I guess that's an improvement over that book we were discussing, at least. Maybe. If you squint.

This is what's wrong with America today: people are turning to network TV for their sexual educations rather than reading the entire sex manuals section of the library furtively in their first jobs as young teenagers.

I liked the part where she goes on to say, essentially, "and the second reason people watch it is because it's sexy."

"I'll Be in my Bunk..."

Excuse me, I think I need to go off and, ah, learn something.

wouldn’t you be more upset if your partner’s knowledge of sex was limited to what he’d learned about the birds and the bees from his fourth grade health teacher (gender: questionable)?

IMX, people whose gender is questionable know a whole lot about sex.

I remember sometime ca. 1990 somebody saying "porn is educational". And they meant in a "how-to" sense rather than it educates you about the mores of the society that produced it.

Gotta go look at the article and see what it says.
