The Miscellany
Oct. 12th, 2010 10:09 pm1. Curve Magazine has just been sold to the Australian publisher of Bound and LOTL. A good move overall for the magazine, I think; what it means for me writing for them, I'm not sure.
2. Y'all heard that Alyson is ceasing print operations, right?
3. Then you will understand why I am once again feeling more than a little shaky in the (cough cough) "career" department.
4. I started the music blog. I'll link to it soon.
5. Potty training has commenced in earnest. There is one hitch: April is afraid to sit on either the "big potty" or the potty chair. Like, really, really afraid. I wouldn't push the issue, except that a) she also enjoys getting completely naked (in 30 seconds or less!) and running around the house, and if that's going to happen I would like some serious potty action too please; and b) she asks to go a lot, and then refuses.
6. Operation Bottle-Free, however, has made significant advancement due to the implementation of Sesame Street-branded sippy cups.
7. April is also afraid of spiders. April is just surprisingly fearful in general. Especially, you know, considering the climbing and general impishness.
8. Her imp has been on full throttle this week, by the way. It's become a new nickname.
9. Thank you again for your well-wishes regarding Coaltrain. I love hearing about your memories and your affection for him, and I'm just a little impressed at how wide a circle he cast. He was a good cat and a blessing on the world.
