The experience of watching the opening of Ponyo is immensely enhanced by having recently visited the Monterey Aquarium.

(We didn't get any further than the opening, however, before we had a meltdown once I revealed that Totoro wasn't actually in this particular movie.)

To answer a question that was not exactly posed to me this weekend: Simone likes to do all the talking. All of it. For her sister, for me, for Daddy, for Uncle Bear Daddy, for the cat. For you, too, if you come to visit.

April is goofier. She's the one who makes up new songs or tries out new facial expressions or narrates the book she's reading in resplendently creative ways. She's the one responsible for "cat food" and "dog food" (wheat puffs and Cheerios, served dry) at breakfast. Sometimes all that is harder to capture in an LJ post, though.
