Why Nadinelet?
Mar. 2nd, 2003 05:26 pmNot that anyone's asked yet. But for future reference:
nadinelet is the nickname of one of my cats, Nadine. The small black pillow type. She's often overshadowed by her older and younger cat-kin, Morgan and Fritzi. Yes, she's the middle cat -- not as smart as either of the others, not as cute nor as imperious. Really, she's quiet and unobtrusive and utterly harmless. And we lover her too.
So she deserves some extra attention. Somehow, that meant that I took her nickname as a username for various online activities that called for one.
I never used to have a nickname. (I still don't -- this is my *cat's* nickname.) Back in the old days of the Net, people regularly asked me what my username, or "nick," was. I always had to reply, "Lori." 'Cuz it was true. I've never been anyone but myself. No personas, no pseudonyms, no aliases, no nicks.
If I ever feel particularly perverse, I'll put the cat's pic up instead of mine.
