Science News reports what many of us four-eyed folk have long suspected: that nearsightedness is mostly the fault of your parents, or at least their genes...but that reading and other "close work" is a significant trigger for the condition. Just thought you might like to know.

Also in Science News but not on the web, a short article indicating that low-cal or calorie-free sweets may actually be a diet hindrance, because they mess up our ability to judge the caloric content of food.
