Flesh and the Devil is so gay, gay film historians have written essays on it. I stumbled across at least one while researching the two versions of the ending. (We apparently got to see the slightly less gay ending at the Castro on Saturday. There's irony for you.)

I visited the Alameda Flea Market for the first time yesterday. I came away with treasure. I wish I'd had a camera, too, so I could have taken pictures of the porcelain doll graveyard and suchlike.

Also: soup, dim sum, a lot of conversation, visiting friends, another movie missed.
