Semi-personal year-end highlights

This is not a complete list, but for some reason "I had ice cream with a friend," for example, felt a little too coy, and going into detail felt too revealing, like airing dirty laundry. I left out a lot of stuff that I'd rather at this point put behind me, no matter how significant it was at the time. I also left out more public events that I didn't feel I really "owned," like the shootings at Virginia Tech or Charles Simic being appointed poet laureate, even if they affected my inner landscape as well. Ah, all lists are arbitrary...

Whew! That was...educational, but I don't think I'll be doing this sort of list every year :)
