WisCon is big. Very, very big.

WisCon programming is also very, very big.

How big? At last count, I think we had 200+ program items and 300+ program participants.

Some people seem to think that WisCon programming is small enough that there is space and time for one or more of the following to occur:

a) The programming chairs can implement their petty personal grievances against people, groups, topics, etc. in an arbitrary and spiteful way.
b) The programming chairs can pick and choose which topics get addressed, and which don't, according to their own personal vision (of feminism, of fandom, of whatever) and interests.
c) The programming chairs can write or rewrite iffy (*cough*) program item descriptions.
d) The programming chairs can and do sign off and explicitly approve of every single word, sentence, sentiment, and idea in every panel description that gets chosen.
e) And so on, and so forth, and so on.

It is a week until I get on a plane to Madison. You will excuse me if I just laugh maniacally here and move on.
