Two notes from tonight
Jul. 23rd, 2008 10:35 pm1. The New Yorker article on Obama reminds me that I probably stood behind him in the check-out line at the Hyde Park Food Co-op on occasion. "Every Saturday," eh? And I did live just around the corner, after all.
2. Watching 300 shows that the gender essentialists of previous recent posts really have it all backwards: it's men who need to engage in egalitarian sex with each other (mutual masturbation and/or 69), because it's clear that there is strong attraction between these manly, manly men, but neither one can be seen to submit to the other or else the attraction collapses. Women, on the other hand, are apparently free to play all sorts of power games during sex without consequence. Whee!
