The Daily Miscellany

While there are probably many reasons to critique 50 Shades of Grey, fuming that it's a dangerous and unrealistic scenario from a BDSM community standpoint is really not one of them. Unconvincing, sure. Too convincing and thus too seductive for the poor sensitive soccer moms? Give me a fucking break.
2. Cake and piñata at Crocker Amazon Park today. And many band-aids. (Simone experienced her first paper cut this morning, and April skinned her elbow this afternoon.) The cheetah-print band-aid was particularly coveted by the adults.
3. I was very much not dressed for the weather, though. I have seen spring and I am not looking back!
4. We also had a surprise bouncy house session at the People's Grocery garden sale. But no Black Pearl cherry tomato plants, alas. I bought some lemon balm instead.
5. Today in children's developmental news, Simone first grabbed one of the glass jars from the pantry and then accidentally dropped it on our slate floor. Fortunately nobody was hurt and the jar contained easy-to-sweep-up dry goods. She also learned how to undo the latch on the front screen door. She learned this while both adults in the house were indisposed, no less. Heavy discussions about not running out of the house Or Else ensued.
