A Short History of Today
Jul. 26th, 2012 10:06 pm1. Thanks to a confluence of circumstances, I was left trying to find a public phone in Jack London Square in the dinner hour. I failed, but the Waterfront Hotel let me use their reception phone.
2. I also missed a ferry due to my own shyness and incompetence. At least I didn't *get on* the wrong ferry.
2a. Kids' first ferry ride!
3. People on buses routinely (and cheerfully!) give up their seats for my daughters. It's kind of bizarre, considering that nobody has ever given up their seat for me before for any reason, up to and including being pregnant or pushing a double stroller. They help my children on and off the bus, too.
4. April met a May and a June, both sitting one seat in front of her on the F train.
5. "I'm a boy every day. No, I'm just kidding. I do boy things." Later: "What are boy things?" "Coloring. Painting. Running really fast." Kid, you just signed yourself up for a lot of women's Olympic track and field watching, sorry.
