Reading Wednesday: The Home Stretch
Jun. 4th, 2014 11:37 amLes Mis progress:
Jean Valjean is wrestling with the shape of his future.
In other reading news, I have another children's book to recommend. Lemony Snicket's The Dark is outstanding even by Lemony Snicket standards. This is one of those picture books that pleases layout nerds like me with how the words work with the images. (Illustrations by Jon Klassen.) Plus the story itself is just too charming. "Laszlo is afraid of the dark. The dark is not afraid of Laszlo. This is the story of how Laszlo stops being afraid of the dark." I read it to my afraid-of-the-dark daughter; it made her giggle, and now I may be stuck reading it *a lot*. I don't mind.
