Wiscon write-up, such as I can remember, will come later. First, a few other random notes:

I'm pretty sure I have pollen allergies. I woke up in Wisconsin with a headache and pressure in my sinus area. I sneezed a lot. My nose bled a little -- like I have cocaine nose, except without the drugs (darnit). Excedrin didn't help as much as it usually does with the headaches. I tried Claritin (expensive!), and that seemed to help. I think that's as definitive as it gets without a scratch test, yes?

I wonder, if I hadn't had my adenoids removed, would the symptoms be better, or worse?

My mother and my sister are coming to visit later next month. This could be fun (she said non-sarcastically -- I like my family).

I didn't think my sandals would be substantial enough to set off the airport scanner, but I guess the rubber soles are thick enough to warrant an x-ray.

Shopping for used books the day after the con, I ran across a set that I am simply dying to own. The World and Its People, in seven volumes, by Charles Horne, published circa 1924. Not very expensive, but best to get a paycheck first. It's full of lines like:

"[Eastern Siberia] is a land of hope, while most of Asia is filled with lands of dreariness and despair."

It is hotter here in San Francisco today than it was all weekend in Wisconsin. It was gloriously sunny yet breezy in Madison; here it is dead air and heat. I think it's going to be ice cream at dusk for me.
