A few weeks ago, I made a flippant comment about how the authors of The Ethical Slut seemed to think that jealousy would wither away after the Revolution, just like the state.

I just realized that I've read a book where a character is struggling with precisely that belief (among many other issues, I should note): Cement, by F.V. Gladkov. Good book, that.

Funny, I've always thought the jealousy chapter in Ethical Slut is quite interesting and helpful. OTOH, I am a completely non-jealous person. Sometimes I feel excluded, but I don't feel jealous. Nor envious (important distinction).

Did you miss the whole previous discussion of The Ethical Slut here in my LJ? The jealousy chapter is great if you're not a jealous person, and in some ways it's good even if you are, but in other ways it sucketh mightily, yes it does.

Now I'm going to have to re-read that chapter in my copy. I don't remember what it said.
