I picked up a pair of Birkenstock cork inserts for my shoes yesterday. Doctor's orders.

They feel sooo good.

I am now considering buying a pair of Birkenstock slip-ons of some sort to wear around the house, also on doctor's orders -- I am no longer allowed to go barefoot, remember.

[livejournal.com profile] nadyalec suggested gluing studs and doll parts to the surface of any such pair I might buy. I'm thinking maybe just some chrome skulls.

Yeah I am afraid that when you feet are messed up, they are the way to go... But ONLY around the house of course.

The sad thing is, I'm already wearing square-toed super-practical comfy dyke shoes, so it's not that far to go.

I reluctantly got my first pair before Blake was born when I was too marge to tie my own shoes comfortably.

There's an outlet in Vacaville where one can get such therapeutic devices for much cheaper, just in case you wanted to not break the budget on comfy feet.

Comfy shoes should be tax-deductible. Or else subsidized by insurance. I'm saving hundreds (thousands?) of dollars on surgical bills, after all!

Thanks for the tip.
