I am inspired by black_pearl_10 to ask:

What was the first 'porno' movie you ever saw (or can recall seeing)? When did you see it? What was your reaction? Tell me your story.

Softcore, hardcore, other -- interpret this question as loosely as you like (thus the scoff quotes around the word porno, above, and also the choice of word itself.)

Mine was the softcore version of The Story of O, caught on late night cable when I was babysitting my siblings. I don't remember how old I was; somewhere between twelve and fourteen, at a guess. I was too afraid of my parents walking in any second now to stay on the channel for long, so I kept flipping back and forth between that and something more innocuous. I remember O being bent over a cushion, her hands held above her head, ready to be penetrated by someone she didn't know, maybe couldn't even see. That scene definitely made me tingle, and it stuck in my mind for years after that. (Yes, I have gone back to watch it again, and yes, it's less compelling and more cheesy now. So it goes.)

P.S. Don't worry, I was a probably a pervert before that.

After I'd had some good times with it, I promptly invited all my guy friends to watch. I think I was probably ten.

It had a couple of threads--on the one hand it was like this guy who wants to have anal sex, but his wife is reluctant.

Cut to these Dukes of Hazzard types--mullets and everything--running this business taking phone calls all over town and they get paid to...well, you get the picture.

My buddy upon seeing it for the first time got furious because the first call they take is a Black man with a White woman, the implication being that he isn't "man enough" to take her there, but these good ole boys can do it with no problem and for profit. I agreed with B, but that didn't stop us from watching the whole thing. I was block hero for a while after that.

I remember that summertime when mom went to work was a glorious time, and that while some of it was kind of gross to me, a lot of it was...well, kind of hot. I always took pains to rewind the tape to the exact place I'd found it and put it back every day, so I never got busted. (let's just say a family member got a little 'careless' about saying to a child that such a tape was on the grounds and the content, "...it was three and four people at the same time!" Ahh, alcoholism!)

There was a preview after the video for "New Wave Hookers" with Traci Lords that I so wanted to see, even if only to see some decent production values. But as you might imagine, that kind of thing was kind of hard for a ten year old to come by. [Groan, truly, no pun intended].

The first porno I saw was one of the Debbie Does Dallas movies, I don't remember which one. I remember being restless and driving randomly around, probably in San Diego, though I'm not sure about that. I came across a porno theater and decided to check it out. The experience was like that the stereotype of a bad experience at a prono theater. Men in trench coats, some openly masterbating, others covert, one per row, alternating sides, but I remember being close to one, probably because there was no where else to sit. The movie itself was aweful, the worst of boring straight porn, though I remember the plot had something to do with one of the cheerleaders trying to set-up the others and discredit them. Or something. I couldn't leave though. I was floating in and out of the experience. This was before I came out, so I was desparately telling myself not to look around, not to see their dicks. I left unsatisfied, still feeling a craving for something undefined.

The first porno I ever saw was a movie called Hard Bodies that came out in the 80s. It was soft core, on HBO. I just found it on IMDB, which is kind of unreal. There's a story there, that will have to wait for later, but that's the first.

The first porn I saw was a double feature of "Deep Throat" and "The Devil in Miss Jones". I rather liked Deep Throat, and it taught me a lot, since I knew NOTHING about oral sex before that. Devil in Miss Jones freaked me out.

I went with the rest of my household, probably before the term poly had been coined. I did the bookkeeping for the four of us, and I remember we put the expense under "educational" rather than "entertainment".

This is really lame, but the first "porn" I remember seeing - or rather the first thing that elicited a porn-like reaction from me - was a simple rated-r flick I snuck into at about, oh, I'm going to say 12 or 13. It was either An Officer and a Gentleman, or one called Against All Odds, I don't remember which came first (ahem.) Both contain what to my then-sheltered eye were extremely hot sex scenes, as well as being the first ones I'd ever seen where all the good bits weren't merely implied/covered up with blankets. Against All Odds, an otherwise lame film, had a scene where the protagonists for some reason snuck into some Aztec ruins in Mexico and did the nasty on an altar. That scene stuck with me for years.

First actual porn would have to be at about 15, when some older friends brought a couple of tapes to a party. It was some lame thing about sorority girls and initiations involving seducing the plumber and the gardener and anyone else who happened along - don't remember the name, sorry - but I'm pretty sure I watched it with my mouth hanging open.

Anybody else in my age range remember The Blue Lagoon? My Jr. High School that year was solidly divided into two groups, those who had managed to sneak in and see it, and losers like the rest of us. During my adolescence there were a whole series of teenage-discovery flicks like that, which I now think of as "training porn."
