Suggest a sport or physical activity for me.

besides sex?

when picking an atheletic activity, its really good to consider the body types of the participants. ie, since i'm short, i don't do sprints; i do distance. its about stamina, which i've got, vs. length, which i don't.
also, i tend to gravitate towards curve-friendly sports - acrobatics (my class has a few women size twelve, as opposed to trapeeze, which is all about the size twos). bellydance works the hips and belly - not works, like gym, but WORKS, like accentuates their presence. awesomeness.

in wrestling, bigness is an asset. i am nothing in wrestling, alas.

also, martial arts are fantastic. talk about power. keYAH! there's a prodominantly queer dojo in oakland that works as a collective, where i did my girl army self defense training. if i lived in the east bay i'd be doing that instead of circus.

Besides sex :) But kudos to you instead of you-know-who being the first to say it! :):)

Why does everyone go straight for sex, forgetting the fine art of athletic foreplay?

Athletic foreplay *is* sex, in my book.

You guys are in the East Bay now, right? You could talk to Ken -- he's still running the Kojosho class at Albany Student Village.

Who says short people can't sprint?

Actually, I am taking a trapeze class, and short seems to be more important than lack of curves, as one of the most accomplished students (she has been doing this for a while) has a voluptuous hour-glass shape that hides the incredible muscles she must have.

i make generalizations its true, but by and large, when i look at the trapeeze students, they're built like ballet dancers. there are exceptions.

swimming. it's great for pretty much every muscle group in your body and puts no strain or pressure on your joints, etc.

for a more competitive sport -- including the potential for violence! -- what about field hockey? i'm thinking about going to the spring practices to check it out, see how i do, how i like it, how they run things, etc. i haven't played since we lived in scotland (when i was a kid)! :)

I love pilates. No running around, though, so maybe it's just for the lazies like me.

Personally, I like my sports with violence or precision or both. Curling and shooting on one hand; rugby, hockey and martial arts on the other.

Lacrosse was the first thing that came to mind. I have no idea why. I used to play it in school and liked it.
And poker is very physical, all that card shuffling and then the heart races when you get decent cards ;-)

Perhaps you would enjoy the comfy (I find -- I've learned that not everybody does), noncompetitive trike?

Pilates, which I am doing myself right now, so that I can open my jujitsu dojo next year, finally, which I hope you will try out.

Volleyball
you have the height and the arm strength.
i am betting you would not be afraid to dive for the ball either.
plus it gives good forearm pain. nice and burny with sexy bruises and you build up a tolerance over time.

Do you care if you're working muscles as opposed to cardio-vascular? It makes a huge difference for the suggestions.

Yoga can be surprisingly cardio-intensive.

Also, I hear that soccer's a lot of fun.... [ducking quick]
