1. Vagabondage @ QOM = awesomeness. Vagabondage is [livejournal.com profile] sagahar plus [livejournal.com profile] cindymonkey plus an accordion. I think I am in love with accordions now. Or maybe just accordions played by women. With that strong rocking shoulder movement. Anyway. Even if you don't have a weakness for accordion shoulders, Vagabondage is good fun that you should check out when you get a chance. They're at [livejournal.com profile] vagabondageband, if you like.

2. I had a driving lesson on Saturday. My instructor was a little late because of the weather, and in the ten minutes before he called, I almost chickened out and went home and hid under the covers. Instead, I waited and took over the steering (but not the brake and gas) somewhere in the Hayes Valley and then spent about an hour and a half driving all over that neighborhood, onto the bridge(!), around Oakland, and home. And at the end, I felt like, "yeah, I can do this." Not a bad transformation for 120 minutes of work.

3. Movie night! With extra unintended thematic links. Also, lots of full frontal male nudity. Gratuitous male nudity. Intentionally gratuitous male nudity. Yay!

4. Oscar night! Yes, I was really moved by Marketa Irglova getting a second chance to tay her thank-yous. And yes, also by Diablo Cody, too, although I haven't seen Juno and I had mixed feelings about her book. It was kinda sad, though, that you could actually predict who was going to win based on Academy Award cliches: "Oh, she's playing someone else famous, she will win Best Actress." "The Holocaust movie will win Best Foreign." etc. Also, hello, Tilda Swinton has been around forever, you can stop pretending that you've never heard of her before any time now.

5. Two meals cooked for me by other people! This is, sincerely, a big thrill for me. Also, apple pie!

6. Lots of chicken! Fried chicken sandwiches, baked chicken, chicken wings...I think I may have decimated a whole flock this weekend.

7. Needles! And friendly conversation, and extra-cute cats.

8. My mood is a little weird these days, with a tendency to feel a little dull (as in not shiny) and a easily embittered (as some of you saw a flash of over the weekend). This feeling tends to go away, as usual, the moment I'm actually talking with someone. Small groups and one-on-one seem to fit me best, these days, I guess.

9. I have good friends.

10. I still don't know my own strength.

I know what you mean. It's very rare that I eat a meal cooked by someone other than PK (not counting restaurant meals, and we don't have that many of those these days). I think I've probably eaten dinner at someone else's house once in the last year. Which, I fear, says a lot about the currently deficient state of my social life.
