The best-laid plans...
Jan. 9th, 2004 12:08 pmI woke up this morning with a new resolution. As I've been waking up earlier and earlier every morning lately, I figured I could use the hour or so before the duties of my contract position with YesPortal kicked in to write. I'm not keen on writing in the mornings, but you take what you're given.
Now it is noon, and I am printing out writing samples for graduate school instead. Well, I guess I will implement my new resolution on Monday.

Last night I took a midnight run out to the copy shop, to copy some comic panels for friends, and to prepare a submission to the Zine Yearbook.
I realized that I don't like going to copy shops during the day. It's not that it's taboo, it's that it's not kinky -- it doesn't have the charge that late-night photocopying seems to, for me. I love copy shops at night. They are uncrowded, hushed, and that harsh fluorescent light makes everyone look slightly green. Zombies live in the computer terminal sections of late-night copy shops. In the front of the shop it's merely perverts and junkies and students strung out on caffeine and weed. The scent of impending deadlines is in the air, but it's hours until dawn, no worries yet...
