So I ran into my first (online, not in person) objection to children in harnesses (or "leashes," if you prefer). You know, it's degrading and treats kids like dogs, etc.

I would ordinarily have lots to say on the subject in response (most of which boils down to "walk a mile in my shoes first, you childless twit"), but I think the girls' palpable excitement when we brought out their harness-slash-backpacks this afternoon says it all, really. They were literally jumping with joy.
