Other Mundania, Dental Edition

I had a check-up yesterday with a new dentist whose office is just around the corner. Result: clean teeth, lots of x-rays, admonitions to floss more but no deep cleaning required. She suggested that I get a gum graft for one tooth, though. The procedure sounds weird and a little scary and I'll probably do it. She also told me to keep wearing my retainer essentially forever. And we listened to some fascinating clicks in my jaw, much reduced from previous years but still present.
