I really have no idea how many people believe that these two situations are "the same level of discrimination." I'm guessing a number that isn't that particularly big, and that has some particularly strong bias against fact-checking. Is your objection to repeating this belief as though it were true (or at least reasonable), or to capitalizing off of the stupidity/victim mentality/bizarre sense of proportion in some segments of the LGBT community?
