This morning the girls and I had an impromptu session with some cloves of garlic. I showed them the garlic head, snapped off a clove for each and let them handle it for a while, then peeled it and let them handle it again (and taste it too, with the predictable funny faces).

As I was peeling the head and getting ready to snap off a clove, Simone exclaimed, "oh, it's hatching!"

All in all, it was a fun preschool science moment.
