Speaking of the Playground
Jul. 21st, 2011 10:31 pmThanks to the local twins' club, we hit up San Pablo Park in Berkeley today for the first time. It's not particularly convenient to public transit from our place, but it's near
black_pearl_10's workplace, so we got a ride in and decided to take a long walk back out to Ashby BART.
We had a blast. For one thing, the enclosed play area at the park has a three-car train play structure that my daughters spent the vast majority of their time on today. Which, you know, is almost enough in itself. But also: the kids and caretakers were diverse and numerous, there was basketball and soccer to watch, clean indoor bathrooms, shade, and snacks courtesy the club. If only I had remembered to pack my *own* lunch, the day would have been perfect. (I grabbed a hot dog at BART.) OK, maybe I should've remembered sunscreen, too, now that I examine my arms closely. Also, the swings were too low for my tall girls. But we could easily spend even more time there than we did today, and we were there for two solid hours.
