Dec. 30th, 2011 10:04 amBut none of you, my online friends and acquaintances and drive-by observers, can tell that I have lost my voice, for we communicate only through complicated patterns of pixels! For which I am inordinately grateful right now.
My children are currently confounding the screentime vs. whatever debate by browsing coloring pages and demanding certain images be printed out for their crayon and marker pleasure.
Simone has started asking permission for the strangest things. First it was "Can I hide?" i.e. can I put my head under the covers when I sleep? This morning it's "Can I close my eyes while I watch Clifford?"
The Clifford thing, btw, I blame on my sisters, who apparently at one point owned every Clifford book in print...and then donated them to my daughters this summer. At some point in this context we will discuss franchise characters, but not right now.
Not a lot going on in non-kid news. I'm almost done with my latest dead girl draft (finally). I would like my taste buds back so I can cook again with some modicum of enthusiasm. I hear decongestants can slow the healing of laryngitis, but I am choosing no voice over debilitating sinus-pressure-induced migraines plus Kleenex stuffed up my nostrils 24/7. Blah blah blah. Send chicken soup.

At your command.
