The kids and I had a little cooking experiment this afternoon. We made a Dutch Baby -- like a cross between a pancake and a giant popover. I had the ladies grate the lemon zest for the lemon sugar, and crack the eggs for the batter. I showed them what the batter looked like before it went in the oven and then how it turned into a beautiful puffy brownish-yellow pancake a few minutes later.

Also, it was scrumptious. Although the girls mostly stuck to licking the lemon sugar and pouring it all over the table. Messy, ridiculous, totally worth it. Dutch babies!

Yeay-bies! I love 'em. Also nice with apple sliced really thin so they get a little mushy with cooking.
