A taxi caught (or was set) on fire last night at about 2 am, right next door to us. Flames and fire trucks and honking horns galore. The kids slept through it. I didn't.

Yipes, that sounds disturbing, noisy, and smelly. Did the gas explode? (This was a constant worry when I was a kid; my parents were lousy drivers and I'd seen too many James Bond movies. Well, Dr No 10 times.)
