May. 8th, 2012 11:59 amOK, considering last week's incident with our copy of Where the Wild Things Are, this line from Maurice Sendak's NYT obituary made me smile.
"Roundly praised, intermittently censored and occasionally eaten, Mr. Sendak’s books were essential ingredients of childhood for the generation born after 1960 or thereabouts, and in turn for their children." (emphasis mine.)
