Action Alert
Apr. 28th, 2003 10:47 am(from a local mailing list:)
Here's another way to celebrate the beginning of May:
Guerilla Gardening!
Who: You and your neighbors
Where: All over the Bay Area
What: Plant seeds, seedlings and bare root fruit trees
in the forgotten spaces in your neighborhood. Armed
with trowels, seeds and imagination, the idea is to
garden anywhere and everywhere. This is a
do-it-yourself, dirt-under-your-fingernails kind of
action.
Whether you’re planting in "private" spaces, like
backyards and existing gardens, or in "public" ones,
like medians and curb strips, we want to help. Contact
us to let us know what you’re up to and if you welcome
volunteers. Pick up plants from us or call us for
other resources for plants, seeds and tools.
