Jun. 30th, 2004 09:32 amTemp critical mass may have been reached -- this morning I got two phone calls. One was for a six-day data entry position that I had to turn down because I will be out of town for a day or two next week. Oh well.
The other was for a temp-to-hire position with an investment firm. (Hold your guffaws until the end; you'll need them.) They're interested in me because I have the magic Quickbooks skills, which intrigues me -- what the hell is an investment firm doing working with Quickbooks?
I have an interview Friday morning.
Now here's the fun part. You probably saw this coming:
They want me to dress as conservatively as possible for the interview. A suit or a long skirt ("suit equivalent" is how Steven put it).
I probably have the raw elements in my closet -- except maybe the shoes, but that's another whole story. That's not the challenge. The challenge is: can I stifle my inner imp long enough to assemble something that looks both professional and aesthetically pleasing to my eye?
Mwah hah ha. Stay tuned.
