weekend cat interlude

This is the weekend in which we did not put things high enough to be out of reach of the cats.

First, overnight, Fritzi managed to pull down the grocery bag full of shiny new cat toys we picked up from the store yesterday. So much for saving them for a special occasion.

Then, this morning, Morgan made a serious attempt to pull down some bubble wrap from the shelf, in order to nest atop it. (We freed a sheet and put it on the floor for her.)

Lots more happened outside the house this weekend, of course, but I'm saving that for later.

I went to buy a new CD player and all I got was this lousy piece of paper

It turns out there are TWO WEEKS left on my old CD player's warranty. The nice helpful sales guy double-checked b/c he remembered selling it to us in the first place.

So I will work on my current assignment tonight via the computer's CD drive, but I will not have to shell out the bucks for a replacement, either.

Overheard at My House #4

"So that's why you don't like to listen to that album while you're cooking: because it's all about death."

"Right. And cooking is all about life."

"Except for the fishes and the vegetables and stuff."

"Well, but they're already dead."

"Ah. So cooking is about life, and shopping is about death."

I am looking for a book.

I know I own it.

I know exactly which shelf it used to live on...
