This dream was actually a few days ago.

I dreamed that I had been given a ticket to fly to Mongolia for a vacation. It had always been my dream to go to Mongolia! Wow! Except that I was going alone, and I was pregnant, and it was such a long and likely uncomfortable flight, and maybe I didn't want to go after all. Not here. Not now. But it's a once in a lifetime chance! So I went.

Mongolia was very yellow and dry, fwiw. And the food was odd.

The weirdest thing about this dream, aside from its vividness, is that apparently my unconscious mind knows that Ulanbaatar (aka Ulan Bator, aka Ulan Batar, etc.) is the capital of Mongolia (where I was going, natch), while I'm not sure that I could have recalled that tidbit consciously.

I am sorry you all weren't there to see it last night when I totally lost my shit laughing at what microwaves do to marshmallows. "It's like Peeps, only you can eat them!" I managed to squeeze out between tear-stained fits of giggling. Seriously.

Hey, do you know that dizziness and lightheadedness is one of the (many, many*) symptoms of pregnancy?

Did you know that, b/c pregnant women need more fluids (they're building a little sack o' water in their belly, after all), they are also more prone to dehydration?

Guess what happens when you combine these two?

You get someone who has to cut her play at a party short on Friday night. Oh well. The company, and the surroundings, were delightful nonetheless.

* As a wise co-worker of mine pointed out recently, "there's a pregnancy-related everything. Pregnancy-related rhinitis, gestational diabetes...you name it." (Carpal tunnel, too. Ask me how I know!)

Usually, I don't eat asparagus much. It's not that I hate it, it's that I am indifferent to it. I usually give my spring asparagus from the box away to friends who are more sensible about their vegetables.

This weekend, though, I tried some asparagus fresh from the grill. As far as I know, it wasn't marinated or anything; just the spears themselves, laid over hot coals until softened and browned a little.

Wow, that was some good stuff. I'd do that again, and how.

They just found Hans Reiser guilty of killing his wife.

I know I'm not the first one to say this, but I really mean it: the LJ Slut Meme does not have nearly enough categories to suit my needs.

I know I'm not alone, either. So, if you were redesigning it, which categories would you add?
