Elaborations
Dec. 18th, 2008 11:38 am1. Last night, on a whim, G. and I went to dinner at Zadin, a Vietnamese restaurant in the Castro. (We were already in the neighborhood after I got a much-needed haircut.) We had crispy fish spring rolls, pho with chicken (pho ga), pan-fried pho noodles with shrimp and chicken, and coconut rice.
As G. already reported, we both agreed that the pho was quite possibly the best either of us had ever tasted. I really loved the fish rolls, too; apparently they are a house specialty.
The restaurant itself is on the upscale side in terms of decor, and on the small side in terms of square footage, and quiet. It's a nice mid-range sort of place -- lovely for a casual date, which is sort of what we were having.
2. The other night, when I sang to April, she clearly tried to sing back at me. Several times, back and forth. I have witnesses. Both the twins are in imitative mode, insofar as their limited motor skills permit, but this was another notch up on the cuteness scale, I tell you.

My new can opener, because it's so simple and it opens cans without leaving sharp edges, ever. A bit expensive, worth every penny and more.
All the guests at our accidental baby party this evening.
G. on the Zoobie polar bear rug in front of the fire, talking to Simone.
