Aug. 16th, 2009 10:22 pmThank you to everyone who attended G.'s and my joint birthday party over the weekend, and thank you to everyone who couldn't make it but sent along their good wishes anyway, and thank you too to everyone else who reads this and thinks, "it was your birthday last week/you had a party this weekend/wait, did I miss something? Oh! Happy birthday!"
Because of the party, I missed my grandmother's memorial. My mother explicitly excused me, and I checked in with her this morning and she kindly asked about how my party went.
I told her I still smell like garlic, and that's a good thing.
We'll have to do it again, garlic, the garden, the grill, and all. It was a splendid way to celebrate a summer birthday.
In other news: Simone has been a little fussy since Friday night. She had a low fever a few days ago, and has been acting very tired. We think it might just be teething, and she seems to be feeling better now, just extra-cranky. Poor baby.
