Shoes!

I am having a severe case of choice paralysis when it comes to my new shoes. There's a pair that I want, but I can't decide which style best fits my particular, er, idiom. So help me make up my mind!

Adventures in Cooking, the Liveblogging Edition

I could have sworn I still had a bottle of saba in the pantry, but for the life of me I can't find it.

We'll see if my emergency last-minute substitution turns out.

(Also, how did we manage to accumulate so much beer?)

Live Dinner Update

So I substituted a mix of cheap balsamic vinegar and pomegranate molasses for the saba, and braised a guinea hen in that plus white wine plus diced Asian pears plus sage. G. and Steven said the sauce came out a little tart as a result, but they both cleaned their plate, so there you go. I too thought that the sauce on its own or just over the meat was a little intense, but that mixing the sauce and the guinea hen meat with the side dish, which was cabbage and noodles, worked remarkably well.

Babies will get their first taste of guinea hen tomorrow and we'll get to see what they think, too.
