Yesterday (except for the tomatoes) was a little stressful. Nothing big, just very rambunctious girls, naptime disruptions, misplaced cat effluvia, and so on.
Today was much nicer. The ladies and I ran some errands together down around Lake Shore and Lake Park after lunch. We met two other sets of twins and a lovely almost-two-year old named Morgan Rose who is smaller than my overgrown weeds of a pair of daughters, yet felt no compunction in declaring them "babies." April sang most of the way up and down the hill. We concluded our little trip by sharing a small gelato in two flavors, malted milk and strawberry.
During naptime, PG&E installed our new smart meters. We'll be monitoring our electric bill very carefully from now on.
And then after naptime, Simone successfully used the potty for the first time in my presence (I promise not to give up-to-the-minute updates on this process, but milestones are milestones) and April talked to her grandfather on the phone without pushing any buttons that might make loud squawks or accidentally cut us off. She refused to let go of the phone until dinnertime.
Also, they figured out for themselves that they may not be allowed to jump on the couch or chair, but they can pull the cushions onto the floor and jump on those instead.
And the day is not yet through. Tonight:
whittles' benefit at the Uptown!
