Just made the mistake of reading an editorial arguing that the John Tyner incident pulls the curtain down on the absurdity of our current form of security theater--yes--and so we should suck it up and start profiling already b/c everybody can tell who's a threat and who isn't. Er, no.

That, my friends, is one of many reasons why some of us were wary at the sudden upsurge of interest when it was a straight white able-bodied guy making the protest and becoming a "folk hero."
