Wednesday the ladies got their flu shots. My daughters were very excited to go to the doctor, in part I think because Simone has been playing doctor recently for some reason (no, not like that, more like pretending a rubber snake is a stethoscope and sticking it in my ear. Yes, I am aware that stethoscopes don't go in your ear, the business end anyway. Tell her that). But I want to repeat that sentence. My daughters were very excited to go to the doctor. April almost marched into the exam room on her own when someone accidentally left the door open. When it was her turn, she clearly told me and the attendant that she was "scared," which charmed everyone in the vicinity.
Right after the shot, April was understandably wailing and the assistant asked, "would a lollipop help?" April immediately stopped crying and said quietly, "yes?" By the time the lollipop made its way out of the wrapper, she was laughing. Meanwhile, Simone was fascinated by her band-aid and wanted to remove it and wear it on her hand instead. She instructed me solemnly that it "hurt just a minute."
This must have been the least stressful vaccination ever, I swear.
