1. So, OK, Prince. I want to tell you that "when I woke up this morning could have sworn it was Judgment Day" got a laugh, sure, but for me that line opened up so much more. The world didn't end in 1999 but I'll tell you, that year sure feels like good times sometimes these days. Except. So there was this whole growing older/apocalpyse/survivor/find joy where you can dimension, and I got a little dizzy and verklempt with it all.

2. It was nice to have a full-fledged, several hours long, multi-event date with G. that Saturday. We also saw [livejournal.com profile] doriankatz's amazing MFA final show down at Stanford and had a fancy fish meal.

3. I wore a tie. People kept staring at me. Heh.

4. I had a nice late morning picnic in the park on Sunday with all of Shayna's other clients and their kids. And a lovely afternoon concert, and then company making dinner for me in my kitchen in the evening.

5. We had a long discussion as to whether Beethoven hates or merely doesn't respect string players. [livejournal.com profile] slackerstalker contends that he respects them (unlike, say, Tchaikovsky) but has very high expectations. P.S. I understand it's a French pun, but "Pavane for a Dead Princess" still kinda bugs me, what with my dead girl issues and all.

So after over 10 years, I am losing the shortest, most convenient e-mail address ever. If you're a regular correspondent you'll be getting a real announcement shortly, but in the meantime:

My new primary e-mail address will be lori.selke at gmail dot com .

My secondary e-mail address will be selk at prismnet dot com .

(if you're curious, everything sent to the former is forwarded to the latter at the moment.)

Thanks for your patience and forbearance as I discover how disorganized all of my contacts etc. really are...

Clearly I do not write poorly enough to grow up to be a sports columnist.
