OK, I am charmed that the premise for Cook Like a Man starts with the author cooking his way through Alice Waters' cookbooks. Sure, he ends up cooking from the men's menus, too, but what a lovely gendered twist for a book with such a title. Especially as he's a home cook -- the domain of women, where public chefdom is the domain of men. The resonances with Waters' own path are kinda tasty too. I might just have to read it.
