OK, I will play along.
Dec. 26th, 2012 11:25 amFrom Should Be Reading via a couple of my LJ/DW friends. I'm not posting the image, though.
The meme:
"To play along, just answer the following three (3) questions…
• What are you currently reading?
• What did you recently finish reading?
• What do you think you’ll read next?"
I am currently reading Natural Born Celebrities: Serial Killers in American Culture by David Schmid. Also Kush by Minister Faust, although very slowly.
This morning I finished reading Hairstyles of the Damned by Joe Meno , which I thought I'd read a zillion years ago but apparently not. It's set in my grandparents neighborhood in the south Chicago suburbs, more or less, in about the era that my brother was attending high school (i.e. 3-4 years after I did), so the very specific echoes of certain things are kind of eerily entertaining. Yesterday I also read through the first issue of Princeless, which is so fucking awesome I can't even tell you, just for the "fair maiden" speech and the woman warrior armor showroom.
I can't remember what I was reading before that. Huh. (ETA: I was reading Coal to Diamonds, Beth Ditto's memoir.)
Next I will probably read The Knitting Circle Rapist Annihilation Squad. If not, perhaps Ellen Forney's Marbles. Both were Xmas gifts. I got The Girl Who Fell Beneath Fairyland too, and that will probably be on deck soon as well.
