Insider Cookbook Drama

Noticed in passing this week that David Tanis' cookbook "One Good Dish" is blurbed by David Chang, owner of the hip NYC restaurant Momofuku. This is notable only because Chang once famously announced that he'd never ever ever be interested in opening a restaurant in San Francisco, where they think putting figs on a plate is cooking, har har har. Tanis is a Chez Panisse vet and his first book was titled "A Platter of Figs"; everyone knew who that diss was pointing at. I guess they (or their agents) made up...
