food update
Jul. 26th, 2004 01:14 pmI battered and fried the anchovies. You can tell that we are in some ways still in the early stages of our relationship because I surprised
black_pearl_10 with how good they turned out. He will learn, all my friends nod sagely.
I ate the leftovers on a segment of french bread with lettuce, tomato, and tahina sauce. Wow.
The only regret that I have is that I wasn't ambitious (or hungry) enough to fry up some summer squash, too. I did make the peach tart, though. Just peaches, short crust, and sugar.
imnotandrei made the crust and it turned out as well as any I've ever made, flaky and crisp.
Now, I have to pickle some cucumbers -- and then decide what to eat them with. I am enjoying the Armenian Boomerang Cucumbers we've been getting from the box, partly because they look funny and partly because they taste so good. I would have thought the ridged shape would have made them hard to peel, but I was wrong.
