and now for something completely different
Aug. 2nd, 2004 07:06 pmMy first day at work!
Yep, it's pretty boring stuff. Lots of printing out letters and signing off on routing forms. Basically, I am working for a Medicaid paper farm. The major, contracted with the state of California, number one plus Medicaid paper farm. I am in the word processing/administrative support department; I will be using a lot of those "sign here" sticky notes in the next few months.
I am so overqualified it is ridiculous. And I can already tell I will need to slow down, as always, in order not to show up everyone else in my department.
I caused, and fixed, my first paper jam. Misprinted more letterhead than I'd like to admit. Experienced weird bugs (why does that line revert to all caps when I try to print?) and had the requisite "oops, you're locked out of the system and can't do anything, here, work at my station today" first-day experience.
I also found the block in downtown SF that has all the Middle Eastern food. Yay!
